Treetop Trekking with kids: choose the right course and pass
Treetop Trekking is not one interchangeable product. Treewalk Village, Discovery Courses, uplå and the full aerial trek serve different ages, abilities and visit lengths; the correct activity matters more than the nearest location.

The direct answer
Choose by age and height before choosing a park.
For younger children, choose Treewalk Village or Discovery Courses. For ages nine and up who meet the 55-inch minimum, compare the three-hour Zipline & Aerial Game Trek. Buy a season pass only when the same participant will repeat the same activity type across participating parks.
Choose it when
- Active children who enjoy climbing, balance and outdoor challenge
- Families willing to reserve, complete waivers and arrive early
- Repeat participants who can use an activity-specific season pass
Pause or skip when
- A child misses the published age, height or weight requirement
- The supervising adult cannot remain onsite for the full activity
- Storm, high wind or poor footwear makes a forest course unsafe
Rates are per person before tax and vary by park/activity. Height, age and weight requirements—not ticket willingness—control participation.
What the visit actually buys
Understand the experience before the checkout.
Treewalk Village is imaginative play
The two-hour treehouse experience has no minimum age or height and is best suited to roughly ages three to seven. At Stouffville, the published youth rate is $27 and a paying adult is required on the booking.
Discovery is the bridge to real climbing
Discovery Courses are designed for ages five to eight and require a minimum height of 45 inches. They use lower aerial obstacles and mini ziplines while maintaining formal safety rules.
The full trek is a three-hour commitment
Zipline & Aerial Game Trek requires age nine, at least 55 inches and a maximum published weight. It is a physical activity block, not a quick add-on to another attraction day.
Family value analysis
Value is personal usage—not the biggest advertised saving.
Season passes are activity-specific
The official season-pass page states that passes apply to either the Discovery Course or the Zipline & Aerial Game Trek. Confirm the participating parks and the child’s ongoing eligibility before comparing repeat value.
Adult pricing differs by activity
Treewalk Village requires a paid adult booking, while some children’s climbing formats allow supervising adults to watch rather than participate. Price the exact adult role instead of multiplying the child rate by family size.
Reservation discipline protects the ticket
Complete every waiver before arrival and reach the park about 30 minutes early. A late safety briefing or incomplete minor waiver can consume the activity time you paid for.
A realistic family plan
Protect time, energy and the part children care about most.
- 01
Measure before booking
Use shoes and the venue’s stated method when checking height. Choose the activity only after every child meets the rules independently.
- 02
Match location to activity
Stouffville offers Treewalk Village, uplå, Discovery and full aerial experiences; other parks have different menus. Do not assume the closest park offers the selected product.
- 03
Treat weather as part of the plan
Use secure closed footwear, outdoor clothing and a backup date. Park staff—not the family forecast—make the final operating decision.
Access, sensory load and weather
“Family-friendly” is not one universal experience.
Aerial courses have inherent climbing, balance, height and harness requirements. Ground access, uneven forest surfaces and service-animal arrangements vary by park; call the chosen location for a participant-specific accommodation discussion before booking.
Activities run outdoors and may continue in ordinary rain, but storms, wind or unsafe conditions can interrupt operations. Review the park’s weather and rescheduling terms for the exact booking.
Accessibility, sensory conditions and operating status can change. Contact the venue before purchase when a specific accommodation is necessary for the visit to work.
